Meta Team attends 2021 International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas
Meta Team partners Kelly Braddy Van Winkle and Sherri Miles attended the 66th annual International Roofing Expo (IRE) this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each year, the IRE brings together industry professionals to share business strategies, provide educational sessions, and offer information on the latest technologies and products.
Miles, a member of National Roofing Contractors Association's Executive Committee, and Van Winkle, Vice President of the Roofing Alliance Board of Trustees, were excited to attend after the postponement of the regularly scheduled expo in February. "This year at the IRE, attendees were able to learn more about NRCA ProCertification opportunities, as well as partake in some intriguing educational sessions. Additionally, there was wonderful energy and enthusiasm at the Roofing Alliance and NRCA RoofPac events. I look forward to continuing the learning and collaboration at the next International Roofing Expo in February 2022 in New Orleans," said Van Winkle.
Apart from attending industry events and educational sessions, both Meta partners served as presenters for the "Training and Sustaining Your Workforce" session. They spoke on the importance of NRCA's ProCertification program and how the training has helped retain highly qualified employees.
Commenting on the expo, Miles noted, "A bit of a pared-down IRE this year. I miss seeing my partners and friends in the industry. However, the education sessions have been excellent. The short-term material volatility is undoubtedly on many contractors' minds, but the long-term issue of hiring, retaining, and the leadership development of our workforce has been the theme of every education session and every conversation between contractors."
